Lol, doesn't that make you mad? I want to beat about 99% of the people on welfare. There are some that complain the food stamps don't buy the "tasty" foods. WTF? How about get a job and buy your own shit so my paycheck doesn't have to support your lazy ass anymore.

what gets me even in more is when they're standing in that line with their newly painted acrylic nails looking all fancy in their $300 leather jackets smoking a pack of cigarettes!!!

Hello and THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! AMEN Chesneygirl!

    It's awful.

I especially love the ones that have 50 zillion children in order to keep giving themselves 'annual raises'

    Terrible, Terrible...

BTW... I have a girlfriend that works for the Welfare office over in Eaton County... that's where I get most of my comments about this.. it's truly disgraceful. Granted there are some that need to be and deserve to be on assistance... then again there are some that simply take advantage of the system and feel it is OWED to them.

I know what you mean, and she was probably driving a pretty new car, unlike me.

Hmm. Mindless is about it. Any of you all actually ever been on welfare? Sure there's exploitation, but the whole system is set up to degrade and humiliate applicants for a pittance--and it is a pittance. None of us could live on that money.

And yes, folks in welfare offices are often obnoxious. If you had to go through what they do, you'd develop defense (and defensive) mechanisms too. You'd probably paint your nails and everything else to look and feel as good as you possibly could considering what you were walking into.

I'm glad that folks posting here are knowledgeable enough to know who deserves help and who doesn't.

I know whereof I speak: I spent a year myself on the other side, administering food stamps and state disability (which in 1993 was a whopping $122/month!).

And, yes, I know it was a joke. But everyone's remarks following show a great deal of ignorance. You all should be ashamed of yourselves and your self righteousness.
